Yewande Ogunmoyole

In her own words

“Technology has been a great advantage to humanity, but not necessarily to the human body. With the right knowledge however, these risks can be mitigated”.

Yewande has a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy and Ergonomics from the University of Brighton, United Kingdom. She is an expert at providing solutions to pain that are usually work related whether it is from improper posture at the workplace or wrong movement techniques. She is known for her distinct signature of basing her practice on international standards while remaining creative enough to adapt them to local settings when necessary.

“My approach to health solutions goes beyond the medical and biological aspects. Pain management is now a biopsychosocial field and this is the approach I constantly apply with whoever I see. You have to know what they do in their daily lives, what their social status and mental state are. The medical aspect is still important, but to truly provide comprehensive care that is tailored to them, you must look at all areas of their lives.”

She has worked in various healthcare organisations progressing in her career to managing a multidisciplinary teaching hospital while concurrently serving as the head of rehabilitation services.

Yewande has conducted multiple ergonomics training and assessments aiding corporate organisations, SMEs, distribution companies amongst others in augmenting the work environment to maximize employees’ efficiency. She is proficient at using the United Kingdom’s Health and Safety Executive recommendations to provide solutions to her clients. Combined with her physiotherapy background she is able to help people avoid work related musculoskeletal pains and deformities.

Yewande has been practicing since 2012. She lives with her family in Nigeria where is oversee the running of MHMD

Damilola Gbolahan

In her own words

“We must do our best for each patient and the best way to do that is by working together. I want each patient to leave knowing that they are our priority, knowing that we gave them the best”

Damilola has been providing rehabilitative care to patients of different nationalities for over a decade. She has a Master’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Manchester Metropolitan University. Damilola is most proficient at providing rehabilitation for sport related injuries and pain. She has worked with the Special Olympics team, football clubs and individual athletes. Her goal is to make everyone she sees attain their maximum physical potential. In the past, she has provided pitch-side emergency sports response as well as post-surgical rehabilitation following injury.

As head of the rehabilitation department of a tertiary healthcare hospital, Damilola initiated the multidisciplinary team weekly meeting with other medical professionals to ensure that her patients are getting the best care possible.

All these experiences have helped her to understand the needs of each of her patients and to personalise the care to their injury and their goals. For athletes, she advocates for a biopsychosocial approach for their return-to-sports journey, giving appropriate exercise recommendations that will advance their strength without causing overload or injury for each level of the rehabilitation journey.

“Athletes are such an integral part of society. They are not only role models for physical fitness, they also provide entertainment for sports enthusiasts. The joy on their faces when you give them the go-ahead to return to their sport is indescribable. Although it takes a lot of work and patience, it is always worth it.”

Damilola is a huge fan of football and recreational football player. She completed the Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (FA Level 5) training and is able to adapt her knowledge to any sports enthusiast she treats.

Damilola has been practicing since 2012. She lives in the United Kingdom with her family and oversees the running of MHMD activities there.
